For more than three decades, Mauricio Triana has devoted his career to understanding hair from a perspective that goes far beyond aesthetics. His work has been guided by a simple conviction: the best results are not born from talent or experience alone, but from knowledge, constant observation, and respect for the hair fiber.

A professional stylist and specialist in applied hair science, he began his career in 1995, working directly in the salon. There he discovered that every head of hair responds differently to chemical processes, to heat, to cosmetic ingredients, and to the techniques used by the professional. That curiosity to understand the behavior of the hair fiber became the driving force of a career that, more than thirty years later, continues to fuel his constant pursuit of knowledge.

Thousands of diagnoses, treatments, coloring processes, texture transformations, and repair procedures carried out over the course of his career allowed him to build a technical judgment grounded in practical experience, complemented by continuous training in the main areas of hair cosmetology.

Convinced that a professional never stops learning, he has completed studies and specialization programs in Colombia, Argentina, France, Germany, and the United States, taking part in trainings delivered by academies, manufacturers, and internationally recognized brands. His education spans hair science, applied cosmetic chemistry, trichology, hair diagnosis, colorimetry, cutting techniques, texture-transformation systems, professional protocols, and international trends, consolidating a comprehensive vision of hair care.

His professional development has also been marked by extensive international experience. Throughout his career he has worked in Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Aruba, Argentina, and the United States, collaborating with salons, academies, distributors, and industry professionals. This experience allowed him to learn about different work cultures, market needs, and hair types, significantly broadening his perspective on the professional beauty industry.

In addition to his salon work, Mauricio has actively taken part in projects for television, editorial productions, advertising campaigns, photo shoots, beauty pageants, fashion shows, and industry events, collaborating with photographers, fashion designers, producers, specialized magazines, and media outlets. These experiences strengthened his ability to integrate technique with the creative demands of the professional image world.

As part of his career, he served as a technician and educator for major international brands such as La Biosthétique Paris, TIGI, GK Hair, and Keratherapy, performing technical training, stylist education, protocol development, specialized distributor support, and new-product launches. Working alongside different manufacturers and international teams allowed him to learn diverse formulation philosophies, teaching methodologies, and technical approaches that deeply enriched his professional experience.

In 2014 he received one of the most significant recognitions of his career, being named National Winner of the International Beauty Stylist, awarded by La Biosthétique Paris — a distinction that highlighted his technical and creative level within the professional industry.

Even so, Mauricio believes that true learning does not come solely from courses or certifications, but from the experience accumulated over thousands of hours of work alongside real people. Every diagnosis, every correction, every head of hair treated, and every technical challenge has contributed to building a professional vision based on observation, analysis, and continuous improvement.

Over the years he has witnessed the evolution of the hair cosmetics industry, observing how formulations, technologies, and trends have constantly changed. That experience allowed him to develop his own judgment, grounded in applied cosmetic science, the functionality of ingredients, and the importance of achieving safe, consistent, and reproducible results, always respecting the integrity of the hair fiber.

After working with different international brands and learning about multiple technologies, he understood that there was an opportunity to create a different proposition: a brand built from professional experience, technical knowledge, and a more human vision of hair care.

That idea gave rise to SATORIIA – Emotional Hair Care.

More than developing products, the purpose was to build a philosophy of work where technique, education, and innovation coexist with honesty, transparency, and respect for people. Because behind every head of hair there is a story, an identity, and an emotion — and caring for hair also means caring for the confidence of the person who wears it.

Today, as Co-Founder and Technical Director of SATORIIA, Mauricio leads the brand’s technical development, taking part in ingredient research and evaluation, formulation validation, professional-protocol design, technical documentation, and stylist training. His work seeks to transform the experience gained over more than thirty years into tools that allow professionals to deliver high-level results with greater safety, consistency, and technical backing.

For Mauricio, hairdressing has never been merely a profession. It is a discipline that combines art, science, experience, and human sensitivity. That way of understanding the craft has guided his entire career and remains the essence of SATORIIA.
